Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions
The Anthem Health Savings Account (HSA) Plus Plan will no longer include an employer HSA contribution for some retiree groups. Due to the HSA Plus Plan reaching the employer premium contribution cap, AEP will no longer make an employer contribution to the HSA account for those retirees who retired AFTER December 31, 2012 unless they are part of a severance and are still within their severance period as of January 1, 2022. Participants are still able to contribute their own HSA contributions directly into their HSA account, up to applicable IRS limits, assuming they meet the eligibility criteria for contributing to an HSA.
Medical and dental plan contribution for dependents
As announced in previous years, AEP implemented a three-year phased approach regarding contribution increases relating to covered dependents. This is the third year of that phased approach and as a result, you will see small increases in your medical and dental plan contribution rates if you choose to cover any dependents under your AEP medical and dental plans.
Enhancements to the vision plan
