What's New and Changing
We’ve made a few changes to your AEP benefits this year. Here’s what you can expect in 2025:
Increased Deductible for HSA Basic and HSA Plus Plans
The IRS has increased the minimum deductible for Health Savings Account (HSA)-eligible Plans. As a result, certain deductibles for the HSA Basic and HSA Plus Plans must increase for the 2025 Plan year. The HSA Basic Individual Deductible will increase from $3,200 to $3,300. The HSA Plus Participant & Spouse and Participant & Child(ren) Deductible will also increase from $3,200 to $3,300.
Health Savings Account (HSA) Contribution Increase
The maximum amount you can contribute to a Health Savings Account (HSA) for 2025 has increased to $4,300 for self-only coverage and $8,550 if you cover more than yourself. If you are 55 or older, you can contribute an additional $1,000 as a catch-up contribution.
Optum Rx Price Edge Program—Save More on Medications!
A new cost savings program, Price Edge, will be added to your Optum Rx pharmacy coverage starting January 1, 2025. When you use an in-network pharmacy for generic non-specialty medications covered by the AEP Medical Plan, the Optum Rx Price Edge program searches for discount pricing from other sources at the same time the Optum system is processing your claim. If Price Edge finds a lower price on a covered medication, it will apply the lower cost! The amount you pay out-of- pocket will apply to your deductible and out-of-pocket maximum.
Price Edge also searches for the lowest cost for medications not covered by the AEP Medical Plan but those out-of-pocket costs will not be applied to your deductible or out-of-pocket maximum.
