Time Away from Work

Time away from work helps you rest and rejuvenate, as well as spend time with your loved ones.

Paid Time Off (PTO)

Santander’s PTO program allows full- and part-time employees the flexibility to schedule time off as needed, whether it’s for a family vacation, an illness or other events. PTO can range from 18 to 30 days depending on your role, and is in addition to the holidays Santander observes. Santander also provides additional paid time off to support employees professionally and personally, including the programs listed below. You’ll find additional details about Santander’s PTO program on the OneHR Portal.

Development PTO

Santander recognizes the importance of professional development. All regular employees who have completed at least six months of service are eligible to receive Development PTO hours: eight hours for full-time employees and four hours for part-time employees.

Volunteer PTO

Santander encourages employees to actively participate in their communities, including Santander sponsored or promoted volunteer activities. All regular employees are eligible to receive Volunteer PTO (VPTO) hours: 16 hours for full-time employees and eight hours for part-time employees.

Diversity PTO

In order for employees to have time away from work to observe diversity, equity and inclusion events like Pride events, religious holidays and other similar occasions, all employees receive 4 hours of Diversity PTO per calendar year.

Military Deployment Leave

Santander respects and supports those who serve in the military and we’re sensitive to the stress that service can put on family members. For employees who have a spouse or child going on active duty deployment for six months or longer, we will provide up to five paid days off to support your family as the deployment begins or ends.

New hires can only access SanBenefits after receiving their welcome email to their work email address with instructions and the deadline to make elections, typically within a week or two of their start date.
