New Hires - What You Need to Do

As a new hire, you have 30 days from your hire (or rehire) date to make your benefit elections in SanBenefits. Keep an eye out for an email from SanBenefits and a letter to your home that includes information about making your benefit elections including your enrollment deadline.

  • UnitedHealthcare (UHC) is Santander’s medical benefits administrator. Check out UHC’s pre-enrollment website for plan design information, various programs offered through UHC, and more.
  • All Santander medical plans include prescription drug benefits through OptumRx. To learn more about prescription drug coverage, take a look at Optum’s pre-enrollment website.

Prepare to Make Your Elections

Choosing the best benefits for you and your family can be difficult. The following tools are available in SanBenefits to help you with this process.

  • The MyChoice decision support tool can help take the guesswork out of understanding which Santander benefits may best match your needs.
  • Sofia, the SanBenefits virtual assistant, is available 24/7 to answer your general questions about Santander’s benefits.
  • Information to set up the MyChoice Mobile App on your mobile device for easy access to SanBenefits for enrollment, reviewing benefits coverage and much more.
  • Visit Benefit Scout from Securian, Santander’s life insurance carrier, to use a simple calculator tool that can help you decide how much life insurance you may need.

Make Your Benefit Elections

  • Within 30 days of your hire date, visit SanBenefits and make your benefit elections. You can access SanBenefits using the QuickLinks on The Source, or by visiting www.sanbenefits.com and registering as a new user. The company code is “santander” (case sensitive).
  • If you enroll in the HSA Choice Plus medical plan and are eligible for a Health Savings Account (HSA), visit Fidelity (www.netbenefits.com) to open your Fidelity HSA and make your HSA pre-tax paycheck contribution elections. You cannot make your HSA elections in SanBenefits.
  • If you want to enroll in the Commuter Benefits Program, visit Fidelity (www.netbenefits.com) to make your pre-tax transit and/or parking elections. Commuter elections are not made in SanBenefits.
