Supplemental Coverage

Group Accident and Critical Illness
Our people, technology and purpose set us apart as we work to take better care of employees throughout life's most challenging moments.
Consider an additional safety net with supplemental coverage through Unum, Group Accident Insurance and Group Critical Illness Insurance.
Accidents and serious illness can have a big financial impact on your family, even with comprehensive medical coverage. These supplemental plans pay a cash benefit when you have an eligible condition. The benefit is paid directly to you, and you can use it to pay your out-of-pocket medical expenses—or for any other purpose (such as rent or groceries).
- Group Accident Insurance covers accidental injuries and their treatment, such as sprains or a broken bone.
- Group Critical Illness Insurance covers serious health problems, such as a stroke or heart attack.
Wellness Benefit
Both Unum plans pay a Be Well Benefit for one Be Well screening each year. Critical Illness wellness benefit is $50 and Group Accident is $75 in 2026.
Eligible screenings include:
- Annual exams by a physician (physical, well-child visit, dental exam, vision exam)
- Cancer screenings (pap smear, colonoscopy)
- Cardiovascular function screenings
- Cholesterol and diabetes screenings
- Imaging studies (chest X-ray, mammography)
- Immunizations (HPV, MMR, tetanus, influenza)
Whole Life + Long-Term Care Insurance
Unlike Group Term Life Insurance, which usually ends at retirement, Group Whole Life is a life insurance policy that employees can keep for their entire lives. This valuable insurance can help employees give their families and loved one’s coverage for final expenses. With Group Whole Life, employees also accumulate cash value,* which they can access to help with everyday financial needs.
* Cash value may be reduced by any outstanding loans and/or payments under any Accelerated Death Benefit.
