You should take action during Annual Enrollment if:
- You want to make changes to your Medical, Dental and/or Vision Plan election, including your coverage tier by adding or dropping dependents (subject to plan and eligibility rules).
- Discontinue coverage in the Medical, Dental and/or Vision Plan.
- A surviving spouse must respond to the remarriage attestation question. This applies even if you are not making any changes to your current elections.

Automatic Benefits
- Cancer Support and Guidance

Optional Coverage
- Medical Plan
- Dental Plan
- Vision Plan
- Pet Insurance
- Auto & Home Group Insurance
What happens if I don’t take action?
- You and your eligible covered dependents will remain enrolled in your current Medical, Dental and/or Vision Plans and 2023 contribution rates will apply.
- If you currently waive AEP Medical, Dental and/or Vision coverage, you will continue to be waived.
TOOLS TO HELP YOU CHOOSE
Not sure which medical plan is right for you? Ask ALEX!
ALEX® is an online tool that will help you select the best benefit Plan for you and your family. When you talk to ALEX he’ll ask you a few questions about your health care needs, crunch some numbers and point out what makes the most sense for you. Even if you have had the same Plan for several years, it’s never a bad idea to talk to ALEX to make sure that Plan still fits your needs. And anything you tell ALEX remains anonymous. Find ALEX at myalex.com/aep/2023/retirees.
If you find that some of your prescription medications are covered at $0 on the new preventative list, don't include those in your prescriptions that the tool asks for.

Qualified Life Events
Once you choose your benefits during Annual Enrollment, you won’t be able to change them until the next Annual Enrollment period, unless you experience a qualifying life event. You must notify the AEP Benefits Center within 31 days of a qualifying event in order to make any change to your benefits.
Note: Regardless of the qualifying event, you may not change Medical Plans mid-year. You may add or remove dependents from Medical coverage or elect to enroll in an AEP Medical Plan, if not previously enrolled, but changing Medical Plans is permitted only during Annual Enrollment.
Dependent Verification
In some cases, you will be required to submit documentation to verify your dependents’ eligibility. After you’ve completed your enrollment, if any documentation is required, you’ll see a notification on the Home page of the benefits portal under Important Reminders. Simply click on it and follow the prompts to verify your dependents. Your dependent(s) will not be added to your coverage until your documentation is provided and approved.

Coverage Levels
When you enroll in the Medical, Dental and/or Vision Plans, you may also choose whom you want to cover. Your coverage level and cost are based on the dependents you enroll.
