A New Service Provider for a New Year
AEP has partnered with Quantum Health to advocate for you and help you navigate the health care system and your health care benefits. Medical Plan participants will now contact Quantum Health instead of working directly with Anthem.
Quantum's expert advocates care about providing you with personalized service. They remove the burden you often face when navigating the complicated health care system.
You will continue to access the Anthem Provider Network. Quantum will simply be your point of contact for any Medical Plan-related issues and/or questions.
What's Changing?
1. You will contact Quantum Health instead of Anthem with health Plan questions.
2. You will receive new ID cards that include Quantum’s contact information.
3. A personalized platform and mobile app coming with secure messaging and "chatting" features.
What's Staying the Same?
- You will continue to use the Anthem network of providers.
- AEP will offer the same Medical Plan coverage options.

New Pharmacy Plan – Optum Rx
Optum Rx will replace Express Scripts as the pharmacy benefit manager for the AEP Medical Plan.
As part of the transition, not only will you be receiving communications from Optum Rx, you will also have access to a Pre-Enrollment site where you can check the cost and coverage of medications. Visit the Pre-Enrollment site today!
After November 1, 2022, visit the Pre-Enrollment site for a more personalized experience and the option to schedule a time to have an Optum Rx consultant contact you!
$0 Cost Preventative & Maintenance Medications
AEP is introducing a new pharmacy program that includes special coverage for preventative and maintenance medications. The drugs on the Plan’s Preventative & Maintenance medication list do not have a deductible and are fully covered by the Plan. That means you’ll pay nothing at all for these prescriptions.
Your health is important. Taking medications on this list can help you avoid serious illness and additional health care costs. Check if your medications are included in this special program by reviewing the full list of Preventative & Maintenance medications.
As part of the transition to Optum Rx, you will receive communications directly from Optum Rx.

Optum Rx also provides new tools to help you get the most out of your Prescription Drug Coverage, including tools to:
- Help you look up and learn about drugs that have been prescribed to you or your family
- Determine how much your prescriptions will cost
- Locate a pharmacy
These tools will be found on Optum’s website or on the Optum Rx Mobile App.
Your Pharmacy Plan information will be on your NEW Medical ID card. Watch your mail for cards coming in December.
Deductible Increase for HSA Basic Plan
Deductibles for the HSA Basic Plan are increasing due to IRS regulations.
- Participant only deductible: $3,000
- Participant & Spouse or Child (1) deductible: $6,000
- Participant & Children/Family deductible: $9,000
