Adding a Child
Adding a new addition to your family is such a positive time, but it also comes with questions. Good news! We offer benefits and resources to support you every step of the way, including:
- Adding coverage: Adding a child to your family is typically considered a qualifying life event, which means you will have the opportunity—for a limited window—to add coverage for your dependent to certain benefits plans. Please note, you must make changes within 31 days after the event date by logging on to the enrollment site via hertzbenefits.com. You will also have to provide certain paperwork to verify their eligibility (dependent verification).
- Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA): As a Hertz employee, you can enroll in a DCFSA. Contribute pre-tax dollars to this account to help offset the costs of childcare.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Your EAP can provide suggestions for local child care and education, and provides free, confidential mental health support to you and your household.
- Update Beneficiaries for Life Insurance and Retirement: You can also update your beneficiaries on the enrollment site.

You select either $15,000 or $30,000 as your benefit amount and can use the money any way you choose.
- Hospital Indemnity: Helps with the costs of a hospital stay, including hospital confinement, hospital admission, intensive care and intermediate intensive care.
